Can’t Knock The Hussle: How Nipsey’s New Beard is New Business

On February 16th, 2018, Los Angeles luminary Nipsey Hussle released his long awaited debut album, Victory Lap. Though Nipsey has long been a prominent figure in the west coast hip-hop scene, he’s still very much a new face to casual listeners. For the uninitiated there are a few things that stick out when watching the video for Nipsey’s lead single, “Rap N*ggas”. His charisma hops off the screen and his hometown of South Central Los Angeles is ever present. There is however one new addition to Nipsey’s visual profile: his beard.

During Nipsey’s musical career he’s generally maintained a consistent look. You can usually find him laced in Crenshaw apparel to represent his home turf along with his trademark braids tucked into a fitted hat. His Eritrean roots have made his free flowing hair a trademark of his, and the beard is now a part of that image.

As a noted hustler with a constant business plan in motion it’s easy to dismiss Nipsey’s new found facial hair as a sign of his busy schedule. Nipsey, however, is a master marketer who makes every move a calculated one. The beard is simply a part of that process. Nipsey’s beard is full, immaculately groomed and consistently looks healthy. It’s clear he puts time and effort into his beard, which makes him look a bit wiser and adds even more authority behind his words. His beard is now a trademark look of his and new fans likely can’t imagine him without it.

If you’re a hustler who cares about his grooming just as much as his paper Nipsey is an excellent act to follow. The first step to bearded greatness is creating a consistent routine. This includes scheduled barbershop appointments as well as an understanding of the look you want to achieve. Not sure if your beard grows in full? Give it at least 2 months and see how it looks. Beards typically look patchy during the initial few weeks, something even Nipsey has been victim too.

Once you give your beard time to fill in you’ll find it can become dry at times, which is where beard oil comes into play. Nobody likes dry, brittle hair (especially not your significant other). Beard oil solves this issue by moisturizing the skin underneath your beard while also adding shine to the hair itself. There are many different beard oils on the market with the difference usually coming in their scent. Much like choosing a cologne you’ll have to find the scent that works for you, though many companies also offer unscented options if you want to keep it simple.

Now that you’ve got your beard tight like Nipsey’s, hop in the whip and let Victory Lap be the soundtrack to your success. From one hustler to another. Visit brands like Babe of Brooklyn for a trusted, premium line of  facial hair products that’ll leave your growth experience refreshing & easy.
