Launched in 2020 at IHG’s Yours Truly DC, Groom Guy began as a personalized, design-forward grooming service that transformed the traditional barbershop experience. Co-founded by Davie and childhood friend Matthew Sears, the brand’s mission has always been about more than haircuts—it’s about style, hospitality, and cultural relevance.
Expanding Beyond DC: From Palm Beach to National Recognition
Groom Guy’s vision led to a partnership with PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, collaborating with V Starr, the award-winning design firm led by tennis champion Venus Williams. This location became a standout example of luxury grooming fused with wellness, earning industry recognition and expanding the Groom Guy name nationwide.
The Return Home: Groom Guy HQ at “Salamander Washington DC”
In 2024, Groom Guy returned to its roots, establishing headquarters at the newly opened Salamander Washington DC. The April 2025 grand opening introduced the world’s first luxury barber chair, setting a new global standard for comfort and craftsmanship in grooming. This innovation, experienced firsthand by philanthropist and entrepreneur Mike Milken, elevated Groom Guy’s status in both hospitality and design industries.
